S&W is offering 40% off the MSRP on one gun for active duty and retired military. There's a form you fill out and mail in with you money and free shipping. They claim at this time there's no time limit you have to purchase. I'm on base so I can't attach the form but if you email me at [email protected] I can forward it. I deploy Jan 5th so someone that I send it to please attach this or keep it going.

Trying to figure out how to attach it.

I have the form but haven't figured out how to attach it.

I spoke with S&W and learned that you can buy one S&W gun per calender year and the price is 40% off the advertised (on the Smith website) MSRP. I asked specifically if I could buy one today and then order a second one in January and was told I could. But then I would have to ewait until January 2011 to buy the 3rd gun. Here's the email I received and I followed up with a phone call.

"Hi James,

Yes it is true, Smith & Wesson is offering a 40% discount off the MSRP price of our revolvers, pistols and rifles. I have attached the order form for your convenience. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Great. I had run out of "reasons" to buy another gun. Now I have a new one!!!

trl16....email on the way for the form.

Thanks

Well, just when I think I know what I'm doing.......downhill!!

The form from S&W is in PDF format. Photobucket, etc., only takes photos and videos.

Suggestions on a site to post a PDF file??

I emailed Ms. Piquette a week or so ago about this discount. Anyone that served honorably (whether you retired or not) is eligible for the discount. I asked b/c my wife and I recently left the service after 11 years and I've been eyeing a couple of different S&W's (I think I'm getting a 41).
Thanks,
Doug

In response to my email Ms. Piquette said "Unfortunately this program is for active duty and retired servicemen."

exp date on offer

Just got an email from S&W on this. The offer expires the end of the year. I guess our service to the country has an expiration date. What a shame.

Got mine all filled out and FAX into Helene in the Int & Gov S&S Section. She replied that they are quoting about 60 days for delivery. IIRC it was $772.80, bet there will be sales tax added.

I beats the $1298 + tax for the one new one I saw at the gun show last week or the $1050 for the used 5" another vender had a lot of holster ware and some scratches.

MILITARY DISCOUNT FORM

Hey Road Rat,

Could you also send me the pdf for the military discount form? I could not find it on the website, and have been unable to speak to anyone at S&W.

Where did you find the form at?

Thanks!

Merry Christmas

How about...."Well Done S&W for making this incredibly generous offer!"

There aren't many companies out there that give a rat's arse if you've served or not. S&W is stepping up and doing what they can and is offering a tremendous discount. Get it while you can.

A business would be absolutely inept if they offered any kind of open-ended no time limit discount to anyone.

Copying a military ID card

Federal law prohibits photocopying or making prints of military ID cards unless it is to receive medical treatment, so I'm wondering if S&W will accept another form of verification of military service/retirement?

So what is a WN Rating?

So what is a WN Rating?

Think he means he's a Seabee from Winston, North Carolina hence "WNC Seabee."

By the way, I'm also hoping to get a Model 41 through this program. Got an email from Ms. Piquette the other day, advising to check back in mid-January for status.
