Factory .32 H&R Mag. ammo is non existent around here. Others on this board will say plenty available around where they are. I've had some on order for 6 mos. Every time fill order date comes up it's re back ordered another month. Small caliber revolver ammo, and even .32 auto is still in very short supply around this area.

It is a real nice little gun..When I bought it Georgia Arms had a 100gr hp @1100fps that puts it right up with .38spec. They stopped making it at least for now.. Win & Fed made some that wasn't as hot and even that's out of stock..

It's a even better cartridge when you reload for it. I can't remember the last time I saw any Factory fodder around.

Hang on!! Fill the gun with what ammo you have for carry, and wait till the .32 H&R ammo ship comes in. .32 S&W is anemic load for self protection. A LOT of 90 yr' old guns will chamber any .32 S&W long or short, hence current loadings are not very hot for safety purposes.

I have also shot 32 ACP out of my 32 magnum revolvers. The semi rim will stop it from sliding down the cylinder and the only problem I found was the ejection has to be done with your finger tips because the ejector has no rim to grab onto.
Saying all of that I suggest like others to look for 32 s&w long. I use

I have not bought from any of the mentioned on the list, however I have bought ammo online. I would reccommend getting more than a couple of boxes if possible. The 32 is a hoot to shoot. Also I suggest going to range and setting up target at 5 or 10 feet, I call it minute of man. I see a lot of shooters frustrated because they are shooting at targets 25 yards away with a snubby. As a self dense firearm it is great, you will like the low recoil and quick follow up shot capability. The ammo will be gone quick!!!

Lack of ammo is my concern w/this caliber as well. If it was common, I would probably have had one by now. They seem ideal for old farts like me who are getting tired of heavy recoil in J-frames.

The only way to shoot any of the .32 revolver cartridges reasonably is handloading. Once brass is acquired they are nearly as cheap to shoot as .22LR with home cast bullets.

I have a 432 that I have had a few years. I have some painful bouts of arthritis in my "Shootin Hand" and the six shot .32 mag is good for using in that situation. I usually carry a Keltec P32 as a BUG with it. In a pinch, I could feed the 432 .32 auto from the KT mag (not very likely but kinda neat). I still have about 100 rounds of LSWC and hollow point Federal stuff. I do reload and that helps. But, I would not get rid of it if I didn't reload. I think the ammo will become available again.

I remember that I got a nice Colt SAA in .38-40 (.38WCF) years ago. I couldn't find any .38-40 ammo other than some Winchester rifle ammo that was very expensive. I wound up trading it away. A few years later the cowboy shooting sport got big in my area and you could get all the .38-40 ammo you wanted at good prices. I could kick myself for trading it away now.

If you like the revolver, keep it and there will be ammo for it. I am confident enough that I put a NIB used Ruger SP-101 in that chambering on layaway recently. I like my 432 and will be keeping it.

I had a 632 - 1 7/8" and sold it after after I bought the 432. The 632 was a very pretty little gun. The 432 or 431 .32 H&R is a viable caliber that although it holds 6 rounds is a bit skinnier than a .38 special J. It is now an oddball, but I suspect Smith will release a J 1 7/8" in .327 one of these days. Taurus has one.
