Yes. There's a tiny bit of tolerance between the cartridges or the chambers, or else you'd never be able to load the gun. When the primer is lit, the expanding gas will cause the brass to swell and seal the breech, allowing most of the pressure to push the bullet out of the case, through the cylinder throat, jump the gap, into the forcing cone, and down the barrel. When the pressure drops, the brass contracts a little bit, and then you will be able to extract and eject the spent casings.

I tilted the muzzle down and up 45 degrees and the bullets back out esp in the chamber when pointed up. Im familiar semi autos so this revolver is new to me. Thanks.

So you're talking about axial movement of the cartridge? Yes, it will move a little. Unlike bottom-feeders, a wheel gun doesn't rely on a slide to hold the cartridge in place.

Yes, and you will notice it more if the cylinders have been chamfered, i.e. bored out a little to facilitate easier ejection. Most of the time this is custom work done by a gunsmith.

It's normal for cartridges to rattle that way. If the BULLETS rattle, you have a problem! Get new ammo!

It is normal for some extra space between frame and cylinder to allow room for the cartridge cases to rotate with the cylinder and clear the frame. If there is too much endshake in the cylinder, that will allow more room for the cases to move back and forth. See if there is back and forth movement of the cylinder when closed, without ammo.

LOL, only because you won't be able to hear it. BTW, I've been asking people to speak up for nearly 30 years now, wish I had paid more attention to hearing protection when I was younger. Now I have all 3 age related syndromes, CRS, CSS, and CHS. For you youngsters, that is Can't Remember S***, Can't See S***, Can't Hear S*** and it will happen to you sooner or later. Good news I can still shoot, so don't be laughing when I put the menu on the floor and stand on the chair to read it. Someday you won't remember where you left your readers and you'll be every bit as grumpy as I am.

With no ammo chambered, the cylinder has no movement front to back in lock position. I shot the gun today and it functions as it should. Thx for the tidbits of info.

Glad your gun is working as it should and that's just the nature of the revolver design. Enjoy the gun and pretty soon you will see them multiplying like crazy.
