Default S&W model 10 snubnose ammo question

I have a minty lnib S&W model 10 snubnose chambered in .38 on lay-a-way till next week.I currently use federal 110 gr low recoil .38's in all my h/d revolvers.I have been looking for something alittle better and i have come across some 129 gr federal hydra-shok's in .38 +p.Ya'll think they would be ok in the model 10 or are they going to be to hot.

This Federal load should be fine in your model 10. Another commonly recommended load is the Speer Gold Dot 135 gr +P. Probably almost pleasant to shoot in a 2" steel frame, not so much in an alloy J frame.

I agree 100% with Alan. Good shooting; Don

The gold standard (pun intended) is the Speer Gold Dot 135 grain +P. It was specifically designed for NYPD for use in short barrel revolvers. It worked so well it was also expanded for use in all revolvers. You can't go wrong with this round, although it's so popular it may be hard to find. A suitable alternative is the Speer Gold Dot 125 grain +P, or the old stand-by, which many swear by, the 158 grain LSWCHP+P.
