Default S&W Bodyguard 49

I don't know if this is the right place, if not sorry. I have a model 49, the grips have a diamond around the screw's. Someone told me this was important. I have looked on gunbroker and there are none like it. Can anyone tell me if this makes it more desirable or collectible? Thanks for all input.

If it has diamond stocks, that is a good indication that it is a pre 1968 gun, if the stocks are original, so that would make it more desirable. The stocks themselves are more desirable too!

It's all original, the gun is a solid 90% plus. Any idea what it would be worth? I know pictures would help, but I am unable to post them at this time. BTW the gun is blue model 49 no dash, shrouded hammer.

What would help is the serial number. You could x out the last 2 or 3 digits if you like.

I'm thinking if the gun is what it looks like it is, probably around $400-$450.

I would agree with the above price. I had a blue one and sold it to get the stainless model. I think I got 425.00 out of it.

OK, that serial number with no prefix checks out to be an early gun, probably around 1965 or so. Have to interpolate between '62-'69 in the book.

Yes 4-450.
If you want to sell it fast, Go lower.
450 may take a while since collectors will jump on a 99% gun,
But a 90% gun may never be touched unless it's something rare.
The model 49 is not the most common, But there are a lot out there and if you were to ask who has one here you would find that we have tons of them hidden away in our safes and waist bands.
