Default SPEEDLOADER FOR MODEL 442

I just picked up my new Model 442 (No internal lock) and I would like to buy a Safariland Comp 1 speedloader for it but I do not know if it will work with the stock grips that came with the revolver.

Does anybody use a Safariland Comp 1 speeloader with the stock grips?

In the meantime I have ordered two speed strips for it.

Thanks for your input.

I've found that any and all speedloaders are gonna hang up in the mighty J frame. Their tolerances are just too tight.

I use Bianchi Speed Strips all the way.

I use both Safariland and HSK loaders with my J frames. One of the J's has CT grips and the rest have Spegel grips. The loaders work just fine.

J Frames & S&W Wood Grips have a speedloader problem. The grip is too high onto the side for a speedloader to fit in. It will hang up & if you jam it down you can't get the empty loader back out. So what i did was to round out the grip deep enough on my grinder so that the loader would go in ok & you could get it back out. My Hogue rubber grips worked fine, but i like the S&W wood better. Any ideas on these ?
Here is a picture what i did on my 649 with the S&W Wood Combat grips.

I have a 442 with Eagle boot grips on it and the Comp 1 works for me. It may require a little fiddling, but is no doubt much faster than speedstrips and requires less dexterity. The problem I have is getting the dadgum thing loaded (it's small and the spring is stiff). I've ordered a second one - hopefully easier to load. I think they will work with the uncle Mike boot grips mine came with; wood Magnas might be an issue though.

Spegal bootgrips, SF Comp 1. No interference at all.

+1 on CT grips and speedloaders. I'm way to slow for fingering um in.

I've got no issues with my older 442 and HKS speedloaders. I did order a new 442 no lock last month but it'll still be awhile before I can check the new grips out.

+1, I had the same issues. Speed strips can be pretty quick if you practice with them.
