Wondering if early 586's (with a red ramp insert) would have a pinned front sight, or if it's machined from the barrel blank.
I realize it would not have one of the easily visible pins on many of the later models, just wondering if it's one of the nearly invisible pins installed before polishing and bluing.
I'm looking at one to buy, and the front sight is boogered up pretty well.
I looked at mine,a 1987 dash 1 and its not pinned, the sight and barrel are machined all from one piece and so is my 1982 production 686 no dash. Both guns are 6" bbls with red ramp front sights. Hope this helps
