Default model 19 cannot open cylinder

i tought my problem was the ejector rod not tighten enough

but after the rod has been retightened i still have this problem

on 2 barrel position on my revolver i cannot open the cylinder

if i advance the cylinder by cocking the hammer the barrel turns to another cylinder then i can open the cylinder
can this problem be caused by a worn star ejector?

I made a mistake once of putting too much pressure on the end of my ejector rod with pliers when assembling/disassembling and ended up messing up the end of it. The metal was slightly elongated on one side and when that side was on the inside of the of the locking bolt, it wouldnt clear it to release.

Hello Corbach. I am sure you are referring to the CYLINDER ,the barrel is attached to the frame and does not move.
Without seeing the gun it is never simple to diagnose a problem such as this.
But it SOUNDS as though your ejector rod is bent. OR there is some material under the ejector STAR. Clean the CYLINDER thoroughly ,and check for a bent ejector rod.

Is it a 4" or 6" gun? Describe it to us ,,or better yet ,post a picture.

How are things in Canada ? Cold?

Good luck ,,Allen Frame

Default back from the gunsmith

there was a little notch on the cylinder that was touching under the barrel at the 6 oclock position

a little sand paper made the trick

glad it was nothing major. How did sanding it affect the finish?
