I'm running into an intermittent problem with light primer strikes in my model 10 K frame revolver. The strain screw is full in and the hammer feels like it has good tension. Every once in a while I'll hit 2 or 3 light strikes in a row shooting double action. The primers will have very tiny dents, nothing like the shots that preceded them or followed. This mostly happens when shooting double action. I am using CCI #500 primers in my reloads.
Any suggestions on what to check? The gun shoots phenominally, and I've had it for 20 plus years now. I only remember this happening 10 plus years ago when I turned down the strain screw, but that isn't the case here. 90% of the reloads fire normally, with deep primer indents. The one's that don't fire, have very minimal dents, and upon recocking and firing single action, still didn't ignite. I fired 6 rounds of someone elses ammo and they all fired, then I tried the 3 "duds" again, and 2/3 went off. So its like an intermittent problem in my mind.
