Got another one!
I aquired another one this weekend! It is from the second series of production, almost identical to the other 3 except the hammer spur is shorter and the machining of the rail and placement of the fron sight are a little different. Serial # begins with HMC00xx. Any ideas how many of these were made in the second bunch?

Leather work
I wish I could claim the leatherwork, but I had these custom made by a gentleman! Will supply more details when he finishes in the future!

I have some carved leather from Mernickle, and a piece from a fellow just north of me. That work is as good as I have seen (at least to my untrained eye), and I'm sure there'd be an interest in your makers info.
Congratulations on your collection, and for having the good taste to get some fine looking leather to carry it in!

Gorgeous guns and leather! I'm very interested in the leather work.
My 3 inch 29-10 "Bounty Hunter", with Hogue grips ... I still have not settled on which grips I want on this one.

pretty strong trio ...
a handcanon you still can handle, isn't it? have two of 'em but not compensated.
One is 629-2, the other 629-4.
most shooting is done with the 629-4 with pachmayr compact grips, puts the hand a notch down boreline, but those grips tame the recoil in a way the shooting stays pleasant.
little only drawback is the great difference in accuracy compared to longer brothers, 5 or 6 inches, almost twice the group @ 25 yards with the same ammo, not only operator errror!
but still great guns and with the compensator probably a sweet shooter :-)

They do shoot great, all 4 of ours( my dad, my brother and my 2 are comped) I really need a standard 3in to do a comparison. The factory goncalvo combat grips are beautiful, but they just dont handle as well as the Hogue mono-grips that also shipped with these revolvers! As for accuracy, you are correct, the 3 in barrel does affect my accuracy, and remember the sights can only be adjusted left or right! One of mine will acompany my wife and I when we hike on the Appalacian Trail and also accompany me hunting. I had the leather made for this purpose, the roses are mine and the english scroll my bros! My dad wound up with the bobbed hammer revolver (although I have the original hammer) and eventually my little brother might get my second revolver of mine. Both have boys to pass them along. So far I have a little girl on the way,( due June 13th) any day now! But if I only have girls, not a problem, they will be shooters!!! and Im sure they will like the roses!!!!

Congratulations for the little girl; will be a wonderfull moment for everyone! I have 2 girls and a boy, and guess what, it's one of the girls that is most interested in shooting, for now at least ... but .44 Mag is not her choice and i guess will never be :-).
As for the leathers they really complement well.
