but then I picked up a 6" 686. I may have just found my long gun.
I have a 4" but the 6" was sooooo nice. May just have to put the rifle on hold for a while and get a 6" something? Looked at a 6" 29 with a scope also. That was intimidating.
Will be back at the gun store on Monday to see if I am still in awe.
Be safe, Frank.
For shooting or hunting, I have always wanted and used the long barrel revolvers. For me they give me a better sight picture with the longer barrel. Congrats on the 686. Ray
Thanks for the reply. I like 686 as a base gun so adding the 6" would be a range gun as the 4" serves me very well as a home defense gun. I also have a 9mm Sig 239 that fills the slot as a home gun. The 6" seems like it would subdue the recoil of the heavy mag loads but then again I have never shot a 6" barreled .357.
Be safe, Frank.
Right now I am very confused as to what to get next. Saw a post about the 9mm j-frame conversion. Still want to have a 1911 again, I sold mine a year ago. Love my Sig 9 but am thinking about the 220 45cal. Then this 6" 686 shows up at my LGS and I don't know what to do. I am also looking for a 640 to surface and have never bought off Gunbroker or such as I like to handle the gun before I buy it. How's this for a run on sentence?
Then there is the bolt action 5.56 I was holding Friday. Man, I have to hit the Lottery. I really have to think this through and know what I want next so I don't buy on reflex and am sorry later. The original post was a hope that some owners of 6" 686"s would let me know their opinions and experiences, but then again I never did actually ask that did I? I am an idiot!
Thanks again, Frank.
