Default S&W model 351c Info.

If any current and past owners of the S&W model 351c .22 Mag J frame could relate there likes or dislikes on this model it would greatly help my decision on a future purchase.
Thanks All, Tim

I have a 351PD J frame 22 mag. airlight snubbie.

Very Easy to carry in my inside the pocket holster. So light I forget it is there sometimes. 7 shots of 22 mag. while not the ideal defense round can be effective at short ranges with proper shot placement. Key is to practice a lot. This is a gun best used 7-10 yards. Closer the better. At 7 yards I can get all 7 rounds inside a pie plate pretty fast. Not target class shooting, but effective. I use CCI Maxi Mag 40 gr. Gamepoints and they penetrate well. Check out Brassfetcher site for test results of the 22 mag out of a snubbie. Hardly any felt recoil.

Trigger is heavy. Being a rimfire it needs to have a strong strike of the firing pin so in DA the pull is not great but then again practice will make this gun more effective for the user. In SA the trigger pull is OK. Oh, one other thing, its loud!! Very loud. Seriously wear hearing protection for extended use.

Its really easy to carry concealed. Very light. I mostly carry it when not really in need of a gun like fishing as I can carry it in my cargo pants pocket without notice. Its handy and at short distances it can be effective. Its also an ideal back up gun. Hope this helps. Noah

Default 351PD

great guns for short range, light, carry anywhere defense situations. I agree with all of the observations of the previous poster BUT i would not buy a 351. In 30 days or so you will see the hammerless version and it will be a huge success as this revover is taylor made for pocket carry.

The 351C is now California legal.
I picked mine up December 10th.
Waiting for the smooth wood grips
that come on the 351PD.
Currently have Safariland grips on it.
Will post new pictures when the new grips arrive,

My only concern with these are how well the cylinders will hold up over time. I'd feel better if they had steel instead of aluminum cylinders. I had a 43c and the front of the cylinder started to erode from the flash heat of the ammunition. So I think these aluminum cylinder revolvers were designed to be carried a lot and shot sparingly.

Smile 351c

We just purchased a 351c and really like it. It's easy to conceal, is accurate at 15 yards but the trigger pull is a bit heavy. Hopefully that will become easier with a lot of practice.

I have a few thousand rounds through mine and the trigger is like all SW which is my standard for revolvers. Great little light weight revolver!
