Did S&W install the finger groove type, rubber combat grips (not boot grips) from Uncle Mikes on round butt K frames and J frames at the factory? If they did, what years did that occur?
I've recently seen some on a K frame snub and the owner swears it came from the factory that way.
Thanks for the reply. But have they ever come on the K frames from the factory? I've got several of the J frame grips I bought from Brownells before they were discontinued. I had no idea they existed for K frames until I saw it on his 38
I think some of the 66-2, 2-1/2" bbl. came w/Uncle Mike's rubber combats. My pre-owned one had the factory wooded grips, but the product code indicated it had "SG" or synthetic grips. My L-frame 696ND came from the factory with them as well.
I recently purchased two pair from S&W. Check out their site! I installed them on my 66-2 and 66-5, 3" BBL. I like them!
I really like Uncle Mike's rubber combats on my J frames. I have two sets still in the factory package for any future J-frames I might get.
I'm thinking about getting a 66 with a 2.5" barrel and would certainly like to have those same type of grips on the 357
IF I could come up with them.
I didn't see them on the S&W site for K frames. I'll check again.
Thanks!
Uncle Mikes are the very best rubber grips ever designed for S&W Revolvers IMO..
UM cast them from Craig Spegels grips under an agreement..
I like the Boot & Combat J frame grips & also the K/L Round & Square Butt Combats, I have one of each in my stash for future buys..
