Found a place on the web that seems to have both 4" & 6" 617 .22's in stock
I got an email from a company for a special sale. I started looking at their website. They had listed with the other S&W's both 6" & 4" 617's for sale. I did a dummy buy and it took me all the way to FFL info & credit card info and shipping charges. Looks like they have them actually in stock, as it didn't do a backorder. They want $682.00 for both models. I am not sure if I can put the name of the website on here, if someone lets me know if that is ok, I will post it. I have both 617's myself, and wanted to share the information I found with all you guys who have been such a big help to me with all my past questions in case anyone here is looking for one. Let me know if it is ok and I will post the company name.

There is no "law" about posting a gun dealer's name...

Website that has the .22 617's
That is great, thanks I just wasn't sure about posting it. The site is Riverviewsales.net ...... Like I said it let me go all the way to submit order when I did a "test" sale. Without saying anything about backorder, after credit card info etc. So hope it works out for all you guys who are looking for one. They are sure fun little guns, best .22 revolvers I think you can buy, and I enjoy both of mine quite a lot. Good luck to all of you! Let me know how you all make out. Thanks,

I've Got a 8 3/3" no dash that I'd have buried with me if I could. Always wanted a 4". S&W stopped making the 6 shot in favor of the 10 shot and I was a little put off by that. Well next came the IL. Before you know it nobody can get one at all.
Time to get off my rear and get one. Now for the grips, that will be another story. They said it should ship in a couple of days so I'll be acting like a 6 year old waiting for Santa.

Lippold -- Glad to help you out on the .617 4"
Hi Lippold,
Glad to hear you got one coming!!! They are a blast to shoot, and soooo accurate you will be feeling like a pro! I know what you mean about your waiting for it to get to your FFL. I myself have a gun headed to my FFL in 2 days also. It is a bit bigger than a 617, I have a .500 Magnum I ordered (it too was a long wait) 6.5" barrel half-lug, ported. Smith & Wesson told me that they have 48 on a backorder and I got lucky last Friday the 5th when one came into Bud's 2 days after I called S&W........So I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas too! So congratulations to you on your find, glad to be of help to you.....Craig
