Default Opinion of value of 625-3??

I always value the opinions I hear here, and I am thinking about selling my 625-3 model of 1989, ACP, 4" full lug bbl, looks NIB. Beautiful smooth wood grips. Please give your opinion, and if anyone is interested please pm me. thanks , Wallacem in Ga

I gave $250.00 for mine, about fifteen years ago. A friend bought one last Thanksgiving for $550.00, no box or papers.

Default 625-3

Hello,
If this gun has "smooth wood grips", they didn't come on the gun from the factory; the 4" 625-3 came with Pachmayr Grippers from the factory. if the grips on the gun are factory, Smith & Wesson Combats (with finger grooves), the grips alone may be worth a couple of hundred dollars. The 4" 625-3s are harder to come by than the 5", and at least here in northeast Ohio seem to be rarer than the 3". If the gun is in pristine, like-new condition, on an auction site like GunBroker, it would sell for anywhere from $600-800 dollars.

I don't know why you want to sell it. I have the 3" and would love to have a 4" to go with it, if money were no object.
ColbyBruce, I think you got a steal even 15 years ago. Nice looking 625.

I had no idea rubber grips were worth anything. Are you sure? I will have to go and look but I bet I have a bunch.
