Default S&W 360pd....Sounds loose

I just picked up a 360pd and it is my first revolver. I noticed once I got it back home that when i shake the revolver it sounds like there are loose parts just rattling around. It's not as though there are pieces falling around inside but is just sounds like a few pieces are loose. Is this just how j-frames are or does this sound like a problem.

Thanks,
Andrew

Look at the photo, specifically the black part behind the trigger guard. That is the hammer block, which prevents the hammer from falling unless it has been fully cocked. It does rattle a bit, as stated above.

ColbyBruce is right. Hammer block "HB" will prevent you from accidental discharge of your firearms(unless hammer was fully cocked). The noise that you hear is "HB" moving up and down. It does sound like some part/s are lose, but more likely it's just a block. Enjoy the gun. I got sw340pd.

S&W ships their guns very dry. Should the day come that you pull your sideplate, oil on the hammer block will shut it up. Won't rattle anymore.
