Default 10-6 questions

I think this is the right forum. I put a deposit on a 10-6 heavy barrel (4 inch) today. The gun was stamped Lockheed MSD on the butt. Finich is nice with a few dings and scratches. Grips are original and in nice shape. Interesting thing was the sights are a high front blade with a fully adustable rear sight. The rear sight has "micro" stamped on it. Could this be factory or is it after market? If it is after market, they did a nice job - looks stock. Gun was $325. How did I do?

We need to see pics!

To me it sounds like a 10-6 modified to be a PPC gun.

It WAS a Lockheed security guard gun in the past, someone bought it cheap when the security agency went to Glocks or some such, and had adjustable sights put on it.

Micro was a maker of adjustable sights and probably other parts, Ruger used Micro sights on early Flat Top Blackhawks.

Lockheed MSD was the Lockheed "Missiles and Space Division" in Sunnyvale, California.

Pine, 10-6 went from 1962-1977. Post some pics when you get a chance. Your sights should be a plus as far as functionality goes. It is kind of neat to have a gun that has a background other than being in a sock drawer for years. My 10-8 from Buds was an Aussie Police Gun. Shoots well, and has some history behind it. Wish I knew how get the information off of the V.P.A. sticker! Bob
