Just brought the new baby home!
Picked up this sweet Model 24-3 last week and am so happy. Comes with box, paperwork, even the original warranty card! If this gun has shot over a box of ammo I'd be stunned, thats how good it looks all over.
Wasn't sure if I was going to take it to the range, but a wiser gentleman than myself asked why I'd marry a pretty girl if I wasn't going to sleep with her?
Had a point, and I'm off to the range this weekend!

Very nice revolver. I personally don't believe in safe queens. I buy guns to shoot them.

I couldn't have put it better myself...it's a gorgeous gun, and you can sit around and admire it all day, but it's a lot more fun to shoot it

AWESOME....simply ...AWESOME!
Especially love the tapered barrel and partridge front sight.
Even in the Lew Horton special snubs the 24-3 looks and feels so much nicer than its magnum sibling.....IMHO
PS...Make sure to save your brass.

Horses were made to ride not look at.
If you had the M24-3 that was issued to J. Edgar Hoover it might be a "looker".
I was/am still undergoing the same dilemma. I have a NIB, never fired, nickel M57 with a six inch barrel. Bought in 1974 and locked away until I purchased it.
With the price of Smiths these days it is tempting to keep it unfired.
But, we may not be allowed to have them much longer so I intend to enjoy it before I have to turn it in. It has the sweetest action of any Smith and Wesson I own.
