I picked up a neat little 649 yesterday, bearing serial number AFN00xx and I'm wanting to find one of his litter mates.




I'm not real sure how it works, I mean...did they do all 649s with this prefix or did they do some 60s and some 640s with the AFN prefix as well? It's not that the AFN prefix is anything special or significant to me, I would just like to have a pair of J frames from the same batch/litter.

Nice find, plenty of "heft" for a J frame. I have the lightweight versions 38-2 and 38-3, would pick up one like yours if I could find it when I had the $$.

I have a 638 and love it, just wish I could afford it's 357 buddies
