Need opinions on 629 powerport with 6.5" barrel sight upgrade.

Hello all, I am new to the forum. I have a 629 powerport with 6.5" barrel. I am thinking of uprading my iron sights which is the standard adjustable black blade rear and a partridge front sight. I am thinking of going with a meprolight night sight, but I heard that it might not be advisable since I have a ported barrel. Any thoughts?
