Default Box Label question

Can anyone decipher the significance of the number on what is obviously another label applied directly over the box end label?

And the significance of the handwritten X13776?

Thanks.

I'd guess that 100782 is a product code. I'd like to see what's under that label (but don't take it off).

I am not used to seeing a printed label on a two piece box!

That's the screen name of the guy I bought it from at gunbroker.

It's kind of a "water mark" he used on all the pics he posted in the auction.

Ah. Maybe some sort of internal SKU# S&W used in that era?

I also agree with electraclyde, the extra label looks like a dealer's or distributor's code label.
