Default S&W 329pd cylinder erosion

How much cylinder erosion is too much? I'm just starting to see a tiny amount of erosion on the face of the cylinder. Not a big deal, but noticeable. I'll mention it to S&W when I send the revolver in for the blast shield replacement. I'm at about the 500 round mark now.

Once the air gap is out of tollerance than it's too much.

I experienced the same problem with my 329, and I requested S&W replace the cylinder with a SS one: wasn't a noticeable weight increase, is WAY more durable, and you can clean carbon off the cylinder face.

S&W's customer service was very good, but I wish the same could be said about their QC Dept- my 329 earned frequent flyer miles it was returned so much.

Good luck!
