Are prices for 629's getting too high?
The gun is a 629-4 classic 5" with original case. 95%-98% super tight. The person said he will sell it for $675. Its certainly not the deal of a lifetime, but at the same time it is a nice example of a 629.
What do you think?

I agree with bd.
$650-$700 seems to be the range these revolvers are being sold at these days.
It's a "-4" which is one of the best engineering changes with my favorite, the 5" barrel.
I have yet to own a 5" Classic that didn't shoot well.
They are not going to get any cheaper!

That is a reasonable but not great price. If it includes box and paperwork it is more reasonable.

I don't see that many available around here, especially in that condition with the tight lock-up, so I guess I'll pony up the 675. Thanks for the feedback.

You're doing the right thing. The -4 makes it special, at least it would to me. That's the last no - mim model. I had a very hard time finding a replacement 5" (either a -3 or -4) in 2007. I finally found and bought a -4 but the price was high.

Generally speaking, prices have always gone up over the years.
Sometimes faster than at other times, but they always go up.

Sounds like a fair price to me. I bought one a few years ago at about $600 and it had mim parts. It was nib though.

Good move. You can always get your $ back, (& then some) if you decide to sell it down the road.
