Default 686 No Dash Custom Services Revolver

I have a 4"+ 686 No Dash with the CS Stamp indicating it is one of the Custom Serivices guns. It has an adjustable rear sight. The serial number is AWPXXX on the frame. Below the serial nimber is Mod 686 in very small letters and numbers.

On the crane is stamped:
D 2
25x56

I would be curious to know what the D2, and the 25x56 stands for if anything. The gun cost me an arm and a leg because of it`s barrel length 105.14mm. Just .14MM over the minimum barrel length for handguns up here.

Take care

Bob

All the rest of the markings apply to factory assembly and mean nothing. Your model number and the CS markings and serial number are all that is important and means anything. And - Colts have cranes and S&W have yokes...

I this era a standard production M686 would of been a -1. However, the CS-1's that shipped in that same time frame were no dashes.
