Round Butt K-frames
I like the K-frame .38; easy and cheap to shoot, and the guns are still available and inexpensive. Fixed-sight .38s are the best bargain lately and make good platforms for custom revolvers. Here's two favorites that have been customized, though they don't really show it. The blued 10-8 is my old LAPD duty revolver that went into the Armory for a 3" barrel, an action job (LAPD mandated DAO for revolvers), polished trigger face and a Tyler T. It was my favorite off-duty weapon long after everyone else wanted autos. The 64-5 is a recent purchase, from J&G Sales. It went back to S&W for the master tune (no trigger stop) and fitting another hammer (for SA/DA work). Rosewood magnas came from a fellow forum member. I added a T-grip and now have another superb revolver. While these 2 .38s don't rival "SmithNut's" collection, they are still fun to shoot and give me lots of satisfaction at the range. And there's always room for more in the safe. If you look closely, you'll see the nice chamfering job the Performance Center did on the chambers of the 64.

I agree with you OIF2. Round butt K-Frame Model 10s aren't really scarce yet somehow seem special when seen. They work nice with all barrel lengths. I have large hands but love the fit and control the round butt K-Frame gives me.
Here's a 2-inch.

Good stuff. Here's one of mine, a DPD-marked 64-2 with Tyler Tru-Fits.

I notice you guys putting up photos are featuring Model 10s made after pinned barrels. Do you find your revolvers to be well made and smooth?
I bought my 2-inch new in January of 1996. Don't know what year it was made. Its serial number is BSW6XXX so it may have sat in inventory for some years. It has always been a particular favorite to shoot with a smooth action feel and excellent timing. I've always leaned towards the pre-1980 guns (or older) but this "late model" revolver is first rate.
The round butt Model 10s are great with +P 158 grain loads.
