side plate screws
I neeed to find the sideplate screw which prevents the cyl and crane for sliding out. This yoke screw was missing and I do not know if there is a spring and ball detent being used or just a tapered shank on the end of the third screw. The gun is a smith and wesson .38 special, Lady Smith Model# 60-7 5 shot. Does anyone have advise on obtaining this item?

Check out Brownells or Midway who sell gun parts. It's a fairly inexpensive part. Order two.

Can you take a pic of the yoke showing the part that slides into the frame? The ones that use the spring loaded yoke screw are cut in a "V" shape. The ones taking the older style fitted screw have a square cut channel in the yoke, at least on my N frames. Another tell is that the newer style yoke retention screw is a bigger diameter than the other sideplate screws.
MidwayUSA has the spring loaded yoke retention screw in stock - Link
If it takes the older style fitted yoke screw, I think you could use a regular sideplate screw and file off the threads off the bottom of the screw and fit it to your yoke. Midway has the regular sideplate screw in stock. - LINK

Numrich, Brownells, and there's a fellow on E-Bay; "gun-garage". He sells lots of S&W screws and screw sets.

According to the standard S & W reference book, the "new yoke retention system" (aka the spring loaded screw version) started with the 60-3 in 1988, so your -7 should use this. Hope this is helpful.
