The biggest problem is clips that are warped or bent can absorb the energy of the firing pin, preventing a solid hit on the primer and not allowing the cartridge to fire. That's OK on a trail gun or for just fartin' around at the range, but it is not something I would want in a life-or-death situation.
Others may have a different opinion, of course.
