1st S&W Revolver!!
I worked a trade at the Dallas gun show today.
I wouldn't say I got a great deal.
But I no longer own a Taurus .38 revolver, & I now own a M60-9 .357!
It took a couple of bucks added to the Taurus to get it, but I'm pleased.
To me the M60 is the ultimate .357.
It can handle the magnum loads, it can conceal easily, it can reach outr there a bit for a "snubby" & it has the history of the 1st SS revolver.
And shes purty!!

One of the most practical S&W's. J Frames are addicting, and did you know they come in .22 RF, .22 Mag., 32 S&W Long, 38 S&W, 38 Special, .357 Mag, and 9mm? Now you do need one of each don't you? And, by the way, they each come in several different barrel lengths!!!! (And don't forget the Centennial versions and Bodyguards).

I've got an M60 but I'm not sure how many full-house .357's I want to shoot in it. As of today, I've shot zero. I would imagine it would be quite a handful with the 170 gr. load I shoot in my 586.

Buzz-kill - buzz-kill - buzz-kill...
The M60 was the first S&W SS revolver - as a .38 Special!
Hey, the Ruger SP101 blob also started life as a .38 Special. The M60 is a nice revolver - congratulations!
I own a number of S&W revolvers that say '.357 Magnum' on their barrels. I load lots of .357 Magnum cases... to .38 Special - sometimes, barely +P, levels. In fact, unless S&W tested them with Magnums, my .357s have never seen 'real' Magnum loads. Now, my 629 .44 Magnums, well, that's different!
Don't feel bad loading that 60 with, say, Remington R38S12 .38 Special +P 158gr LHPSWC's for self defense - great protection!

What Joe said. Bought a Taurus 94 .22 for cheap target practice and it within the first month went back to Taurus for a month for repairs. It's basically fixed, but shooting 50 rounds thru the 637 is more realistic practice.
A friend has a .357 Taurus and he sent his back for repairs at the same time. He is staying with it, but he is less than happy.
I have learned my lesson. Good luck with your 60.

Congrats on a sharp looking gun. Really a nice piece.
I had no issues with Taurus. They make a fine S&W knockoff. That being said, I comfortably carry a model 10-10 with the bull barrel. The only drawbacks are the weight and lack of conceal-ability. I may switch to a j frame or sp101 w/ a 3" barrel soon, but the 10-10 is so much fun at the range.....

I will run some of the lighter weight .357 mag loads through it just to say I have. They will not be Hydra shock, gold dot short brl loads or any other super loads. The magnum load is enough to begin with! This gun was purchased to run thousands of rounds of 158 gr SWC/WC .38 spcls though some paper bad guys! I have 50 rds of 158 gr JHP 38 spcl +P for SD/HD. That "tore-us" ultra-lite with +P was more the you wanted shoot to many times! Thanks for the congrats & well wishes!
