Decisions, Decisions
Went to the local gunshow today, I sold a couple of guns so had some cash to spend. I found a 3in 60-10 and also a 4 in 686-4. Neither of them had the box, but both were very nice, not perfect, but quite nice. The best price on the 60-10 was about $25 more than the 686-4. Back & forth, back & forth. Finally settled on the 686-4 as I didn't currently own a 686 but did have a 60-12. Of course I'm still second guessing myself, but still happy with my decision. Already had a pair of Hogue tulipwood combat grips to put on the 686-4 and they really set it off. Which do you think you would have gone for?

The 60-10 is a really nice little gun, but in my opinion the 686-4 is the best version of the stainless Distinguished Combat Magnum produced and worth more.

Thanks for the confirmation guys. That was my thinking, but those little 3 in model 60's are really cool.

686-4 is on my short written list I keep. Would have jumped on that like a hobo on a ham sandwich!

You know, I actually had another 686-4 before this one. The first one had a 6 inch barrel, and it was just to heavy and cumbersome. I foolishly sold it before I had another one with 4 inch barrel lined up to take it's place. So, when I saw this one today, it didn't take me too long to make the decision that I needed to take it home with me. I tried to get the seller to come down on the price a little bit, but he said no, I will sell it at this price sooner or later, and I knew he was right.

Like a hobo on a ham sandwich!! I have not heard that in many, many years! Thanks for the short trip down memory lane.
By the way, that is a nice 686!

This gunshow was at Adventureland in Altoona. I was surprised that it wasn't very crowded, easy to get around. I haven't been to the show in Cedar Rapids for a while, it's usually a good show also.

That is a very nice looking 686. I love the 3" J-frames but the NL 686 is a lifetime of Magnum goodness.

I have a few wheelguns, but the 686 Mountain Gun and the 681 are by far my favorites for shooting real magnums. Got a 2.5" for CCW that is really neat, and is intruding on my M19 nicklel 3" territory as my EDC.
