Default What "dash numbers" were mountain guns of various calibers made in?

I'll start this with the easiest, the 629, which was/is made in 629-2, 629-3, 629-4, 629-5, and 629-6.

To my knowledge, the 625 in 45 LC was/is made in the following sequence: 625-6, 625-7, and 625-9.

Am I leaving any out? I don't think this info is in the Supica book, unless I missed it.

What about the other mountain guns?

I will have to look later but there are .41 Magnums in the 657 and 57, 625 .45 ACP, both the Springfield Armory Commemorative and the later 2000+- vintage MG. And of course you have the 686 .357 Magnum...

I believe the:

657 is a -4

57 is a -5

625 SA Comm. -4

625 MG a -6

686 is a -5

So the 625-6 was the first MG in 45LC and the 657-4 was the first MG in 41MAG?

I have a 625-6 MG in .45 acp, and a 625-7 MG in .45 Colt.

Nice guns...

Yes sir, on the .41 Mag.....SCSW says 1998 for the 657-4 MG and the first issue of the model 57-5 MG was in 2005.

Correct.
The 45 ACP MG was also a 625-6, but it had a frame mounted firing pin and MIM parts, unlike the 625-6 45 LC.
The first 357 was the 686+ -5.

This may be nitpicking but the 629-2 was actually called the Mountain Revolver.

Mine is a 625-6 45 Long Colt version with Bolt stop, FP on hammer, no MIM and grooves in the Butt.

The blued 25s were easier to keep up with. Even dash #s were ACPs and Odd #s were Colt.
