Pachmayr Compac grips j frames
Are the square and round butt j frame Compacs the same size and shape?
It would be nice to have grips with the same look and feel on both types of j frames.

They are basically identical in appearance. The Compac for the SB J-frame is a smidge longer to accommodate the extra length of the SB grip at the toe of the grip.
