Default Mod 650 22MRF, is CCI WRF safe to use

My 650 is my tackle box gun and my favorite woods walking companion. I find 22WMR ammo to be too obtrusive in both noise and flash. I really like the WMR Shotshells as snake medicine, but prefer the 22WRF load as a more user friendly round for most other critters. I had been using the Winchester loading of this round(45gr lead flat nose), but I can't find it anywhere. Do any of you use the CCI loading of the WRF cartridge? It seems to be available now from most sources, but I am fearfull to try it because of the revolver disclaimer on the package. All replys based on experience are much appreciated.

Your gun would be safe to shoot the WRF round, but i think you'll find it'll probably be more expensive (if you find it). It probably wont shoot as well in your gun as the WMR would. I doubt you'll see that much significant reduction in noise and muzzle blast. Id stick to the WMR your gun likes and stay with that if it were me. My 650 like the CCI round. But try different rounds to see which one your prefers.

I shoot wrfs in my 648, and find them MUCH quieter and quite accurate. They are not much cheaper, but they are better for small game than the magnums.

The Winchester Power Point load might work well for you also. It is slower and quieter then regular 22 mag ammo, and normally a bit cheaper. Some guns don't like it though, so don't buy more than a box or two until you try it out. I love it out of my old Single Six.

Which WRFs do you shoot, Winchester or CCI? My gun shoots the Winchester just fine, but they are not to be had in todays market. The CCIs are available, but the have a revolver disclaimer that scares me. Have you used the CCI WRFs without any problems?

What does the disclaimer say?

I can't imagine this would be a problem. It should be like shooting .38 Special in a .357 Magnum.

The CCI brand is marked: "Not for use in Revolvers". The bullet used is Jacketed and measures .2245. Some folks claim the additional .1000 could cause higher pressures. The Winchester brand is a lead bullet measuring only .2235. The CCI is available now, while I havn't seen the Winchesters for many months. The Winchesters are a joy to shoot, but I am fearfull to try the CCIs without hearing positive comments from other owners/users. Thanks for your thoughts
