Are these sights normal on that model? I think those that I've seen were the usual target sights. Is this some custom sighting job?

Very nice! I didn't think the 60-9 came with a 3" barrel. Is a 3" 60-9 a catalogued item? I have the 2 1/4" version and I love it.

I really like this revolver. The front sight is home made but I also own the black standard one.
The thing which surprised me the most is the accuracy. Here, in France the shooting range distance is 25 meters (27 yards) and it is really easy to obtain less than 4" 5 shoots group with .38 special cartridges.
I don't know if the 3" barrel is catalogued. As far as I know, my revolver comes from a special run for German hunters…
Concerning the knife, the Endura is my favourite one (with the Sebenza). I bought my first Spyderco in 1995 and I'm still amazed how wonderful these knives are!
