where can I get a Mcgivern style gold bead Patridge front sight for my 627 v-comp? It has to have a Millett dovetail, and I'll be darned if i can find one. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to bump a 5 year old thread, but I literally can't shoot my expensive *** revolver because I can't see the front sight.

Get a fiber optic front sight. Just a thought.

What have you been doing with the gun for the last five years?
Any good gunsmith can fabricate the sight you want and install it -- if you're willing to pay. Otherwise, consider a tritium/white outline dot like an XS, or as GunarSailors notes, a fiber optic front works well in good light.

XS Systems great at night, but the rear V notch makes it just okay during the day and the rear vertical line should be Tritium and inexplicably it is not (pictured below on my 586 L-Comp).
In good light, gold bead is best, have had gold bead on 5" 627, and two Wilson Combats.

I prefer blacked out rear sights.
As to the Wilson Combat gold bead sight -- I think it's the best made; were I OP, I'd order one and have a good gunsmith fit it.

I have posted this many times but how about fixing what's broken - your eyes - instead of the gun? As we age, it becomes hard and eventually impossible to focus on the sights but eye doctors can make glasses for you that will permit you to see both the sights AND your target with clarity. Dr. Harold Morgan of Morgan Sports Optical in Olean, New York made them for me via the mail by just knowing my distance prescription and the distance at which I usually shot. His phone number is 800-594-0175.
