I have been watching this guy on ebay for a while, waiting for the right pair at the right price. I realize that these will not be everyone's "cup of tea", but I love the artwork, and they are very unique. Hand made in Thailand.

I admit, I've seen the ads, and have been sorely tempted. Do they fit the gun pretty well?

Sal, my transaction went very smoothly. I got a "shipping notice" within hours of paying via paypal. They arrived at my door 9 days after payment. I found that a totally reasonable time frame considering how far they traveled. $9 for shipping seems fair as well. They were packed well, and my 7yr old daughter loved the elephant stamp and all the international stampings on the envelope.

I think some of their wood grips are beautiful and well priced.

I have been tempted for months, but now I can report "they are all that". They look as good or better in person. The amount of work that went into these is amazing.

They fit very well. There is about a 1/16th inch gap at the very top.



Because it is "black on black" you can't really tell it is there. Just a bit thick application of the poly on the left grip panel. Easy to repair/fit, but I will probably just leave them alone. Other then that they fit tight everywhere else.



Overall, I am pleased with the fit and finish. The minor fit issues could be resolved easily if I was inclined to do it.

Have you shot the Airweight with them installed? They LOOK comfortable.

I too have been looking at those grips and are thinking that they will be quite spiffy on the right BBQ gun.

I am curious as to how they will hold up to a lot of shooting.

I agree. While I can appreciate the elephants and dragons, I think they look way to busy and are not for me. It took me a while to find a set I liked, and then to be able to purchase them at a price I was willing to pay.

They FEEL more comfortable than the factory grips. They fill my hand better. With the thick layer of poly, they are extra smooth and feel luxurious in your hand. They also have a spot for my little finger which the factory grips didn't. I don't like it when you have to curl your little finger under the grip. I'll be taking the 37 to the range this weekend.

I'm a little ignorant on components and method of production. Are these wooden hand-painted stocks with authentic MOP inlay..?

If so, they are being offered at a rediculous affordable price.

I don't know this for sure, but this is based on the picture below and the gun in my hand:

The base of the grips is wood. I assume the picture below is what they look like to begin with, and then the black "paint" is applied. After that, a coat of Poly or something similar is applied to protect the grips.

In bright light, you can "see" the glimmer of the MOP through the paint in a few places. If you hold a bright light directly on the grips, other pieces of MOP away from the light source glow! The amount of work involved in painting the design is mind boggling to me...very detailed work.

i will admit to being a "original-grip-only" guy, but i am man enough to admit that those are impressive artwork. i can't imagine the amount of time it took to make them. they really do look great on the black gun, too. heck, i like it!!!

I gotta go along with the crowd. I favored Hogue or any dark wood but these are really nice and not "overdone".

I couldn't live without these on my 642. They're a perfect match with the tattoo on my back. I was skeptical when I placed the order but now that I have them I'm not sorry at all. Quality craftsmanship, great feel and absolutely beautiful. I've begged this guy to make a set for my Vaquero but all I get back by email is broken english. lol Ask how durable these are and his reply was "Them durable grips!".

Very cool, love the dragon. I bought a set of 1911 grips made of water buffalo horn and inlaid with mother of pearl from that thai outfit. They are really nice, great fit and finish. I like them a lot though, as mentioned, this stuff isn't everyone's cup of tea.

45wheelgun, that looks like a (fairly) recent production 37-2, eh? Nice. I'm a pinned-barrel Chief man myself but I really like those matte-finished 37-2's. What grips came on it fro the factory, Uncle Mike boots?
