Default 629 PowerPort

I received a Model 629-6 with a powerport as a birthday gift from my wife several years ago. I have shot this revolver very little with Semi Jacketed Soft Points only.

I have owned and shot a number of different .44's over the years, but have never had a ported revolver before.

My question is: Should I be concerned about shooting lead bullets or shot shells in this gun for any reason?

Thanks for your consideration.

Jon

I have a 629-4 with the power-port ,shoot lead through it all the time,
( it's actually one of my favorite .44's to take out ) never had a problem with it just spend a little more time cleaning the port..
As for shooting shot shells... I personally never have.. but... I've been told that you shouldn't shoot them through a ported gun...

I have one, use ear protection. Full power loads are quite noisey. I was at the range checking zero right after the 500 S&W came out. They hung signs on each booth, NO 50 CALIBER FIREARMS. After I touched off a few rounds a range officer was tapping on my shoulder. He pointed at the sign, I said 44 MAG, he rolled his eyes, I showed him the 44 MAg ammobox. He said yeah right it's a loud 50, shoot it this time but don't bring it back. I have and have not had any issues, but it is loud. I wouldn't shoot shot in mine.
