Over the years, I have come to find that the centennial J Frames are my absolute favorite. It started with the 642, then the 340M&P and eventually a no lock 442. They are small, lightweight, simple and reliable guns. I love the long smooth trigger pull. The guns are a challenge to master. I'm now consistently hitting center mass at 25 yards and head shots at 15 yards. I know I can do better. The more I shoot my snubby, the easier it is shoot traditional bottom feeders.

I'm really tempted to sell all of my other personal guns to help fund two more j frames & possibly one of Michael de Bethancourt's classes. I will still have a issued Glock 22 and access to a standard Colt AR for training.

Is it wrong to sell two low end 1911's, Glock 17 and a M&P 15-22 to fund my hunger for more centennial snubbies? I'm mainly looking to get the Pro Series 640 and a the 43C (cheap practice). Maybe a Pro Series 60 after that.

Anyone else have this issue?

Don't let a fixation affect your better judgment. Trading those guns for J-frames will get you better value than selling.

Who only has one J and it's been my companion for a LONG time.

I also like J's, especially the Centennials, BUT, there are a lot of uses for 1911's, N Frames, K Frames, L Frames and break tops, single shots etc.

My most frequent range gun lately has been my 940, but I do not ignore my 1911, etc.

I don't shoot much any more and no longer use my large frame guns. Now a J frame seems to be all that I really need, and currently have plenty of them.

Is this considered a "fondness for centennials" or an "addiction to centennials"?

I guess I'm not the best to give advice on this subject. I have 14 J-Frames. It's a character flaw that I do nothing to correct.....

I recently bought a Model 38 Bodyguard dating from 1969-'70, and love it.
Now I really want a 3" square butt J frame, and I also have the hots for a Model 60 with the long barrel and adjustable sights.

I guess I'll need a tour as well. All my Smiths are J-frames. I've heard that men who favor oversized revolvers are compensating for...shall we say...shortcomings.

This is exactly what I needed to hear!!

I only have a 442 sofar.....But those little J's kinda grow on a feller!!!

I only have two; 638 w/IL (I keep trying to cause an ILF, shooting HOT +ps, to no avail!) and a 640-1. I'm on the hunt for more, older P&R, bobbed-hammer 37s, Centennials and Bodyguards as they CC well and seem to be a good value.

Just wait till you try a steel framed J frame, like a 640, or a m.60...you will be even further hooked. Or you could get a 649...

I myself have owned many j frames currently I have a 642 and 640 nothing could ever tear us apart. I get depressed everytime I think about the 340M&P I let go of.

I only own one J, a 36 no-dash with a round butt and a 3" barrel. I realize that it has none of the technological innovations of its more modern counterparts but, I love that little gun, it's one of my favorites to shoot. I can't really explain why, but there's just something really cool about a gun that I can comfortably carry in the front pocket of my cargo pants.

Keep the Glock 17. Everyone needs at least one Glock 9mm.
