Need photos of police with M&P/Model 10 revolvers
I need them for an article I'm writing on the history of the M&P/Model 10 revolver.
Any department, any country, any era. If you have some please contact me or post them here.
Many thanks.

SIG - I'm afraid you misunderstood me. I need photos of POLICE OFFICERS armed with M&P or Model 10 revolvers.

Oh very jocular! BTW, Barney carried a Colt Official Police in most of the TV shows.

Paul-
Did you forget the Webley MK IV in your summary of the transition to the Enfield .38 in your story on military revolvers in the current G&A newsstand special on surplus guns? Or, were you edited? The point was that Webley was encouraged to develop the MK IV .38, then Enfield Arsenal took their design, modified it a bit, and adopted the result, leaving Webley out in the cold on government orders...until they desperately needed revolvers in 1940!
It looked as if you went right from the MK III .38 to the Enfield.
I don't have the magazine with me, but that's my recollection. I do realize that unknowing editors sometimes change text without caring what damage it may do to the author's article.
If your library has those old books by C.B. Colby, you can find one with a southern civilian cop with a stag-handled Model 10, walking with two Army MP's. Maybe you could scan it, subject to copyright issues. I think the cop was wearing a crossdraw holster, but I haven't seen the photo in a very long time. If you find Colby's book on NORAD, the USAF cops are wearing Model 15's, an adjustble-sighted variant of the Model 10. In fact, I once served in Newfoundland with a medic who is pictured in that book. Small world.
Your best bet might be to contact some major police departments and see if their PR people have such photos. Quality would also be well above what one might get from scanning published pictures. Some may have department historians.
Don't neglect the RCMP. Many years ago, I requested and obtained from them a photo of a constable in dress uniform and separate photos of the M&P with five-inch barrel. They may now be very gun-unfriendly, as Canadian cops often are. I think I originally wrote to their HQ in Ottawa, but an inspector with my last name referred the request to the training div. in Regina. One photo was a splendid one in color.
I think we have a couple of members of the Force on this board. Maybe they'll suggest who to contact.
But you're writing for a gun magazine, and that may put them off, for political reasons. Won't know until you try.
Also, we have some FBI agents on this board. One may already have seen your request. (I'm trying to avoid "outing" them, if they'd rather keep a low profile on this.) I think there are about three, altogether. One may be able to tell you who to contact to get pics of their personnel using Model 10's, if the Bureau's agents would fit within the parameters of your article.
Good luck. I usually enjoy your material.
