Default just bought 571 and would like to see what different grips you have on yours

I bought a 571 ? the 57 looks like it has a 1 behind it but is not even. The one I got came with pachmyers yuck. It is nickle flavored and doesn't look used very much so I would like to see what you got. Doesn't have to be a 57 just a nickle n frame 4 incher. If you could save me some time and show me the diferent grips you have that would be great. thanks Doeboy

If it is a .41Mag, that would be a 57-1 (-1 being the second version of the 57). Next would be a -2, -3, etc. The furthest I have seen is a 60-15.

I'm with you on the - but there is no - just a 57 1 and the 1 is crooked. The serial number starts with an N if that makes any difference. I will have to get the rest of the number tomarrow. work frowns on bringing guns in. Doeboy

Picture posted. Surely someone can give me some aspiring pictures. I'm going to try some of the grips I have to see if I like any of them.

The condition is excellent with only a slight turn line. I have handled it for 2 days. The pawnshop owner knock $99 off right to begin with. Which is good because I probably would would have given him the saling price. I stared to buy a 13-3 357 4 inch from him he has had for a while but too much money at one time. I could only post one picture for now I think it is the server at work don't know why. But you can clearly see my deliema. I would love to have stags on it but can't justify the expense now, beside the wife would see there is a new tree in the forest and would not be happy. Doeboy

nice grips I have thought about targets but would like a little something different being this is the only good nickle gun I have. Keep em coming I would like this to be a bbq gun fancy but plain. Kind of like a beutiful woman with no makeup. Just pretty plain jane with maybe nice boots. Doeboy

It's not nickel, but it's a 57 with some modified Target model stocks.

.
If you find a set of used and slightly boogered up targets, you can re-shape and refinish them into something quite comfortable.

I call them PC Targets. They work pretty well for concealed carry too.

very nice I esspecially like the holster seems you posted that on another thread and I googled it. If I remember correctly it was about a million dollars or just out of my price range. Beutiful no the less. I love the basket weave pattern. I have a case knife that would look good with that rig. Matter of fact my case knife, 57 and my belt would look good with that rig. Thanks for the show and tale. Doeboy

I tend to favor Hogues on my Smiths. Here's a collage of some on N-Frame guns. The ones in the center are unique and are made from Micarta. The ones with the medallion in them are old Hogues and I was told these were done by Guy Hogue when he was alive. Sorry, don't have any on nickel guns, just blue or stainless. HTH.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

Ok, a little fancier, here's a nickel 25-5 with a set of presentation smoothie's on it. Not over the top but purty.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Plain Jane I really like the smooth grips. I have a few that I just happened on in the gun shops, but none for an N frame. keep the picture coming I am on my way home in about 30 minutes to start taking some grips off my other teasures to try on the this new find. I can't wait to shoot it and see how it does. I have some apherns on a 28-2 that look really good on it don't know if I can go back to the magnas. Doeboy

That holster is one David Keith (Keith44special) here on the forum made.

He has posted pictures of that holster in your holsters thread along with several other custom holsters he made and uses while on duty as a LEO in Texas

He sent me that holster for my evaluation prior to starting into building a few custom holsters starting this fall.

I've been packing my .41 mags in it for a few weeks and I can tell you I sure like the holster and will be doing a write up on it in a few weeks.

I suspect if you contact Dave, he might put you on his dance card for a holster in a few months if you talk real nice.

You will have to talk to Dave about prices as each holster will be made to order.

I can tell you this, it will be a heck of a lot cheaper than the mass produced ones being sold today. I can practically gaurandamtee it's in your price range.

Well if you like them plain, here is a pair I made back in 1966.

The one's I posted earlier are just a lazy man's version of this pair.

I didn't do the modifications on those grips.

One of our forum members did them for me along with another set.

Due to a heavy work load, he isn't presently taking orders or doing any of this type of project at least for the time being.

Very nice grips. I will see about getting in touch with david keith to see what he gets on one. That would be the perfect holster for this 57. I put the aphrends on the 57 and left my camera cord at work. duh I'll post as soon as I get it back. In the mean time keep the pictures coming. Doeboy

Very nice examples thank you. I put aphrends (I think) on mine. Bad thing is I took them off my 28-2.
