Default M629-1 Lew Horton gunbroker.com auction

Who saw the auction that ended last night on gunbroker.com that listed a M629-1 Lew horton 3" in A S&W box with no label's or paperwork. The revolver was beautiful but, 1600.00 dollars I stopped at 1200.00 and I thought was crazy high. Am I wrong or is thats what it's worth these day's. I really wanted it but that revolver must of had gold plated 44mag shells with it

I know it's a different setup entirely, but I only paid +/-$800 for my LH 3"24 a month ago. I've seen the 29/629 for $1000-1200 NIB with EVERYTHING (paperwork holster etcetc). Something is wrong when you can either get an N frame .44 or a CZ in .505 Gibbs for the same price. AND if you pick the pistol, you've made the wrong choice.
