bbgun, move up close enough to hit the card every shot.
Practice at that range until your group tightens up, then move back a step or two and repeat. Of course, shooting DA you ain't doin' too shabby right now!

That is very good advice. I'll also add that it's not as easy as some gunwriters would have us believe to hit a small target at 25 yards.

If you really want to improve your skill at long distance shooting you're going have to put in a lot of time mastering the DA trigger stroke. I would suggest that you spend part of your time shooting from a rested position with the heel of the butt on the bench. It's a good way to isolate your trigger control and refine it. I would also suggest that you work on a slow and smooth trigger stroke and build up the speed as you improve.

First thing to do is go down to the drug store and get a eye patch, with Eye token care of, are you shooting cheap ammo in it? Shoot your cheap stuff up then buy target ammo and try it, only one box at a time till you find what your gun likes to eat . I have around fifty boxes of ammo to test will, to me this is the fun part of it.

One more thing, on the double action, aim at target and pull hammer back with trigger till the cylinder locks - then aim and shoot like single action. Doing this with alot of dry fire you can be very fast. I shoot double action in bullseye in all phases in it. Double action is the only way to go. With my 32 Long I can score 290 -295 with it in double action.

Being right-handed and left eye dominant should not be the problem, and I agree that you are not doing too badly at 25 yards right now!

I'd drop down to 25 feet, shoot one handed, using double action.

Pay attention to the amount of muzzle movement before, during, and in the lasting position after the shot.

The reason for the above is to magnify what may be resulting in your trigger pull. A lot of people will have an excellent sight picture and then when they shoot cannot figure out why they may be off--sometimes significantly.

It does take practice, I would increase the amount of .22s per day, and determine where we are at, given the above. The goal of course to reduce any movement and have a smooth DA pull in which you remain on the target.

Good luck, be safe, and enjoy--
