Price check on a S&W 15 2"
My local gun shop just got in a used S&W Model 15 with a 2" barrel. The finish is excellent, with hardly any turn lines on the cylinder. I tested it and it locks up great. The factory wood grips look perfect--No diamond shape on them though. The trigger surface is smooth, unlike the Model 10's I have, and the back of the frame grip is serrated.
I'd love to get it. They want $385. Is that a decent price?

So...... it's in great shape, it's priced right, and you'd love to get it.... You shouldn't be asking us questions, you should be posting pics of your new Model 15 for us to ogle!! Go pick it up so we can see it!!

I got it on layaway. It may take till my income tax return to pay it all off, but it will be worth it.
It comes from a previous buy of a gun collection by the shop owner. I just happen to be there at the right time to call dibs on it.

Wonderful Gun.
I picked one up about 2 weeks ago after posting a similar thread.
The responses I received said they are so accurate that I'd probably think I was shooting a 4 inch.
They were right on.
The gun is very accurate and in near mint condition, I paid $459.
No Smith is ever over priced if you really want it.
I am sure glad I picked it up. Good luck with yours!!

Good for you! A great gun and the price ain't too shabby either. You are going to love it. I found a 15-4 2 inch (1981) in a similar condition a couple of months ago for $350. Mine definitely shoots as good as a 4 inch. You will likely come to the same conlusion. Most that I have seen lately seem to sell for $450-500 so, yes, you got a great deal.

I have a 15-2 that I had the square butt rounded. Love the gun. I purchased a 4" 15-8 recently and then found a new 2" barrel. As soon as I am back home from Afghanistan, I am going to have the 2" barrel installed on that one. This 15-8 already has the round butt. I only wish S&W had made the model 67 with a 2" barrel.

Don't want to hi-jack the OP's thread but since you asked.
The M13-2 came along in 1977.
The M15-2 came along in 1961. Welcome to the forum.

Well done! Great deal. I just wrote nice things about Model 15s in another thread. I had one that was stolen and I'm still missing it, although it has been replaced by other toys. Congrats!

I have a 15-4 that looks to be unfired.
I traded a buddy a 66 snub for it.
That was putting a little more into it than I should have, however finding a 30+ year old 15 snub in that condition does not happen every day.
Good find at a great price. In my area my local shop would have gotten atleast $500 out of it. Considering he has not a single S&W revolver in stock due to O'Boobs Gun Sale my dealer probably would have done better than $500 on it.
