Default Custom grips for N Frames???

I am looking for some very nice N frames panels for round frame grip. Not interested in rubber, which I already have, so I would like some good looking wood grips. What manufactures or web sites please. Any pictures would be good also.
Thanks,
Marsh

Marsh, there are many, many manufacturer's, but here is a link to Hogue's site. They have round butt, round to square butt conversions etc.-

Default Grips

One of my favorite pair, a set of factory finger grooves with medallions...

Put S&W Handgun grips in your search engine, and start looking at the results. There are hundreds of them. Hogue are nice, and available form Midway. These are Hogue's on a 686.

These are Elk Stag from the Executioner here on the S&W Forum on my Pre-27..

Save your pennies and get a pair of factory combat grips. If you don't like them you can just re sell them for what you paid for them.

Hand Gun Grips, Gun Handles, Pistol Grip from Eagle Grips - Eagle Grips Inc.

And they will put the S&W medallions in the grips in the factory location.

Don't have the website handy right now, but do a search for Collins Craft. He uses some really nice exotic woods, ivory and some synthetic materials.

Take a look at KEITH BROWN GRIPS (page 6 of the gallery has a pair of N-frame, round butt stocks).

I do not like the overpriced factory combats as they don't fit my hand and HURT me when shooting magnums.

Ahrend FG round butts are a perfect match to my medium sized hands. If I need to custom sand them for a perfect fit it's an easy project with a couple of coats of polyurathane to bring back the finish.

Hogues Monogrip is also a fine grip IF you have large hands.

I stay away from checkered grips ay they tear my hands apart if I'm shooting heavy loads without my PAST glove.

3" 657 Hogue Monogrip

3" 657 Ahrends

19-3 2.5" Ahrends

66-2 3" Ashland Ahrends

Depending on your definition of "nice," you might wish to contact Roy Fishpaw in Concord, VA. His grips show up on revolvers and autos owned by the rich and famous as well as mere mortals who are serious shooters on the pages of American Handgunner and other such places.

I have a pair of his relatively simple finger groove "smooth combat style" grips on an old M-29 of mine, and they, along with the 8 3/8 bbl make the recoil of original Keith loads quite manageable.

Contact Forum member Kurac. He makes superb grips -- round/square conversions -- that mimic the old "coke" grips for Smith & Wesson. He makes them with and without medallions, in a variety of woods and finishes. They're beautiful, comfortable, and very reasonably priced. I have them on three of my revolvers, my 27-3, my 617, and on my 625JM and I absolutely love them.

Kurac's grips are great and shaped like cokes and made from various types of wood with or without S&W mediallions

Hi Marsh,

Thats the grips on my 627 PC. They are S&W, and have Product Code: 414170000. You can order them by calling S&W Sales/Customer Service. The costs is $48.00 plus shipping. Heres another pic.

If you want highly figured walnut and don't want to wait quite as long as you would for Keith Brown, try a set of custom Herrett's.

I own several sets of them, in the Trooper and Shooting Star styles:

Thanks Carl. I really like those grips, but looking at the S&W web-site I didn't find them. I'll call them Monday.

Marsh,

They are not on the S&W Website. Call them to order. I got my 2nd set couple days ago to put on my 686 L-Frame Snubby as well. Although they are N-Frame grips, with a very minor sanding they are perfect for the L-Frame too. Heres a pic with the Grips on the 627 PC & the 686-4 Snubby.
All the best.
Carl

Couldn't stand the stock grips on my 57-5.

I could not be happier with the feel of these Hogues.

Recoil is nothing now.

Default S&W Grips Product code 414170000

I inquired about the grips by email. Dave at S&W got back to me and gave me a number and extension to call. When I called they told me the Performance center bought them all up and that none were available. I was given the impression they don't like to sell them because people are putting the grips on other guns and selling them as Performance center guns. YMMV .. Too bad I liked the grips.
Ahrends is quoting me 8+ weeks.

I just picked up a set of Hogue Cocobolo combat grips for my 25-5 from here: Hogue Auction, The Best Value In Handgun Grips, Rifle Stocks, Knives and Accessories - Bar None!
they were "cosmetic seconds" but they looked perfect to me and were $35.00
