I really like those Model 34 grips. They look like elk bone, not antler. Just like Grashorn made for my 39-2. He said mine were as wide as he could get for grips using whatever elk bone he used for these. I like both of ours better than ivory...seriously.

I have been really pleased wit these Ahrend's conversion targets on my 629-6. Black/Siver stained Tiger maple, Tung oil finish. I love how the grain breaks both ways - predominant shadowing east to west, and subtler grains running roughly north and south under that. I want some Culinas badly, but I like this maple so much it's driving me to buy a blue gun just so I can put a pair of Ahrends red stain maple on it.

I think these are my favorite because they're my favorite S&W style "deep dished/gold plated" and still have "mint luster" from 1915. They're also on the most expensive handgun I ever bought.

Keith Brown's stocks are masterpieces of woodwork...and they are comfortable....many believe too pretty to shoot....nonsense!!!

But Kim Ahrends makes the most comfortable grips I have ever shot, and in some cases,, I have asked for "eye-candy"....

The list goes on....I have 35 sets of his stocks and love them.....

Then there is the gun that was my mom's...with elephant ivory stocks done by Dan Chesiak, many years ago.....

A pair he did for me on my Custom 1911...with my logo....

a pair from Colt Custom on their commemorative Lawman .45

AND FINALLY...
Stocks made BY MY DAD for his Match Target Colt....not only beautiful, but perfect checkering and fit...even for me...

I have many grips for my S&W and Colt revolvers in a storage bin, but I have not bought any more once I got a set of Nill grips. Perfect ergonomics and grip texture. Karl is the best!!

Later smooth targets on my 6" pre-27. I have the numbered diamond magnas but like these for shooting.

Some of the newer Pachmayer laminates on my 66-1 2 1/2":

Keith Brown "Cokes" in Black Walnut made for my 27-2. Very subdued color and grain. Have to admit, if I had it to do over I would order a brighter, more colorful wood.

I love a great set of custom grips.

I have sold off some of these guns, but the pics of wood and steel are too good not to share.

Model 19-4 wearing John Culina Kuracs in Pink Eucalyptus. Sold the gun and the grips together. They were a beautiful combination:

629-1 wearing Royal Walnut John Culina Kuracs. I gave this gun with these grips to a good friend of mine for Christmas last year.

Same Gun with Cocobolo Kuracs. I still have these grips. I will get a Stainless N Frame for these, maybe a 5" or 6" 629.

John Culina outdid himself with these grips.

6" model 29-2, grips are Kuracs in Roasted Birds Eye Maple. Sold the gun, still have the grips. Need a nice blued N-Frame for these.

A few years ago while Keith Brown was still taking orders, I commissioned a set of Tulip style Roeperish grips from Redheart for my 629 No Dash. I sold the gun and the grips separately. The grips and the gun together looked amazing.

A pic of Mr. Browns Finest with Mr. Culina Finest. They go together nicely

My latest set of custom grips, Finger Groove Combat Targets in Bubinga by John Culina on my 586 4". I still have the gun and the grips. Neither are going anywhere.

So there you have it, like many others I am a sucker for a great set of custom grips.

Not as pretty as the Herrett Jordan Troopers that I'll be installing on my 629 but these Crimson Trace LG-350 Lasergrips allow me to comfortably shoot 357 Mag rounds and are a great backup to the incredible sights that are already on the M&P 340.

Those are some nice-looking grips, everyone! While these aren't quite as pretty, at 1/4 to 1/3 the price of Nills or Culinas, I am extremely happy with these grips. I found these in eBay, made in Florida, delivered in less than a week, $65 total. They are, IMO, flawless. They fit my 29-10 better than the stock Altamonts, which have a noticeable gap in the butt. These also fill my hand much better.

These are old, original to the revolver via serial number, and lots of character. Notice where someone has used them as a hammer. Maybe putting up fences or tacking up wanted posters. Who knows the history behind these old stocks? Revolver was shipped from S&W on Nov. 19, 1929 on or about the start of the "Great Depression".

I kinda like my Spegel extended boots on my Colt's Agent on the left.
2nd from left Herrett's Jordan Troopers on Model 19 made to fit my hand.
3rd from left Herrett's Double Diamond panels on my 1911 Colt.
4th from left Altamonts on Taurus 85 and Taurus 94.
5th from left Uncle Mike's Spegel designed rubber combat stocks on
my model 67 Combat Masterpiece.

This is my new 686 3". Just got it and new Jaruwan grips from ebay. They cover the backstrap and fill my large hand perfectly. I bought a set of his grips for my SP101 previously and like them too. Hope to get her to the range this week.

These were a pleasant surprise. While not my favorites, they certainly are for this snubnose 15-3.

If I had to pick one pair, hands down it'd have to be this set of Kuracs on my 629-4 Mountain Gun.

Wood or rubber Hogue grips fit my hand like no others. The palm swell they use fills my hand and seems to spread the recoil out. I've never been disappointed with anything I've bought from them.

Forgive my ignorance, when you say these are coke grips, what do you mean? Is it the shape, color or age of the grips that you are describing? Thanks....Bill
