Default CC holster suggestions for a K-frame snubbie?

Please help me with some concealed carry holster suggestions for a 2" K-frame that are not too expensive. I like the idea of kydex, but I've never seen them for the K-frame. I have seen that Fobus carries one, but unfortunately it's for a 4" K-frame and I would like something that doesn't stick down any longer than the gun if possible. I've looked at Uncle Mikes and Blackhawk (for J-frame revolvers only) and both those styles seem to stick out from my belt quite a bit too far....so I know I'd like to find something that is a bit more snugged into my hip while still being carried on the outside of my pants. I'm not entirely opposed to inside the waist band styles but I'm quite thin and don't really care to go buy lots of new pants to accommodate a larger waist size just for that. Any suggestions?

Anna Sophie ...

Welcome ma'am. If you're open to an option in leather I would suggest contacting Ray, head cook & bottle washer of Lobo Gun Leather (Lobo Gun Leather - Home). I've been very happy with the belt and cross-draw holster he made for my j frame and his prices are very reasonable. You'll find pictures of his work down under the Concealed Carry portion of the forum and from what I've seen Ray post on-line, I believe you'd find him very aware of the special requirements gals have for carrying CCW.

Regards from Colorado,

Tony

+1 for Lobo Gun Leather.

Ray's outstanding workmanship and attention to detail is second to none. His reasonable pricing is the cherry on top. Here's the beautiful combo he made for my Model 40. It was in my possession 23 days from the time I placed the order.

If you haven't been there already, may I suggest you check out the website The Cornered Cat. It is a site for women who wish to carry sidearms by a woman.

Specifically to your question "How do I hide this thing."

Cornered Cat - How Do I Hide This Thing?

The site is worth the time to do some exploring.

Good luck in your quest.

Can I ask what model of holster that black one is? How much did that model cost? I like that style but my only catch is that I would like to have the cylinder at least level with or a little lower than the center of my belt that the holster is riding on so as to avoid having the top-heavy feel that causes the gun to flop around and ride uncomfortably. I have several holsters that have that problem with other guns I have and needless to say, they were all disappointing purchases since I don't ever use them. I have found that I prefer the main center of the gun's weight to right just about an inch below the belt level for optimal comfort.

I have a pancake holster from Lobo Gunleather, and I can't recommend it enough. I think they start at $42.00.

desantis, galco, bianchi and don hume make some of the best basic concealmrnt holsters for the money. it is hard to fnd anything good for under $50 -$60. optics planet [yes they do sell plenty of holsters and gun items] seems to have the best deals and offers free shipping. great co. gets things to you quick. check ebay for cheap used items

FOBUS is a poor quality and ill-designed product, and at the bottom of all available holsters for revolvers and autopistols in my opinion. Recommendations above are good, also FIST.

I've just started carrying a 19 with a Don Hume (mine's a model 710). I have the same holster for my Glock 27 and have been very happy with it -- I expect the same will be true for my snubby...

My snubby rides in an El Paso Saddlery Street Combat. Love the holster-very high quality and reasonable price. I tried the kydex route at first and was not pleased with the concealability of it-the EPS one I have now hugs my body tight and no printing issues.

Plus 1 for Lobogunleather. Ray make me the attached for a 2 1/2" Mod 19, (and it works just fine with a 2" Mod 15 also).

I've been happy with my galco combat master. Hard to beat for the price.

Many CCW holsters are not lady friendly.

Lobo makes some good stuff. I'm betting he will work with you to come up with a holster that will be comfortable for a woman's figure.

I have gone to Blade tech Ultimate-Concealment-Holster, an IWB holster, for most all my CCW. I decided it held the gun in closer than anything else, and is one of the only holsters that keep my K-Frame low. The only holster That keeps a revo as low is Milt Sparks PMK, a belt holster. I had to wait 6+ months for the any of my Milt Sparks holsters, worth the wait, but still... All of my Blade-techs (dang Ive got about 10-15 of the things) get to me in about 2 weeks. With Blade-techs, keep to the UCH if you are concerned about how far out your holster sticks. I use the belt holsters for competition, and UCH for CCW. I also have a Don Hume paddle for a 2 1/2" K frame. Solid rig, but rides high and far out. You can see how low my M19's ride in the Kydex UCH and the leather PMK.

I can back up Mr. Iggy's comment 100% on Ray working with you. I have numerous high end holsters from some of the Big Name holster craftsmen out there and Lobos holsters are on par with most of them. You'll also save 60+ % on the price for a custom holster that will outlast you without a 6 month or year wait. Don't forget a high quality belt with your rig. The Beltman makes the best out there IMO and lives near me. Another great craftsman who will also work with you to give you a fantastic product. I truly believe you get what you pay for when it comes to quality leather and these two fine gentlemen will do you right without busting your wallet.
