M60
greetings,
just picked up a 3" in 357 mag.
I'm pretty impressed at both the lock up and action, especially compared to my old pinned M36.
not fond of those hard grips - 5 shots did in my old arthritic hand - time for some soft rubber grips!
PS: does anyone know if the key from a K frame fits a J frame - I managed to loose mine already.
this is my second new generation S&W - all my others are from the 80s back - pleasantly surprised.

60
nope k grips will not fit j frames
the 3" 60 is one of my favorite guns.
very shootable- 38s are my preferred load.
look for butler creek uncle mikes J frame grips or SJ/C pachmayrs
good luck and enjoy

The key should fit.

OK, thanks. I left the M66 at my son's place for him to try out, so will have to wait a while to try the key.....

A very good choice. I've had a Model 60-10 3" magnum for about 20 years now and it is my daily carry piece. I've got a set of Uncle Mike's rubber grips on mine. It replaced my 40 year old 2" Model 60 rather quickly due to it's versatility, accuracy and power.

Congrats on the new "j"! I have a 60-15 Pro that I carried for a little bit. They are wonderful shooters.
Be sure to check all the screws especially after shooting .357's. They have a tendency to loosen up. A little clear fingernail polish will take care of it nicely. Oh, also check the little screw that holds the sight assembly on the frame, as well as the cylinder release screw. Enjoy!

+1 on the 60-15.
Disappears in a Milt Sparks VMII.
My example is a pleasure to shoot with .38spl and +P and is acceptably accurate to boot.

Yeah, the wood grips are a bit hard on you with 357. I put on Pachmayer Diamond Pros.
