Default apex firing pin return spring

i have a 329 nightguard. i am in the process of installing the FP. Is it necessary to install the spring that came with the kit? If so I might need some guidence before i start.

I have a couple of Apex firing pins w/springs. I believe they made the spring for a reason.

It is a piece of cake to change the spring. Use something like a dentist's pick - after you remove the old firing pin, then just "pick" out the old spring and slip in the new. A pair of tweezers can be a help.
