Default Safety question on recently posted pics?

These were posted by another member, and they had me pondering.....

I remember seeing a video from Midway USA that stated the S&W revo has three safety features, one of them being the "hammer stop" that does not allow the hammer to be cocked with the cylinder open and the cylinder to be opened with the hammer cocked. So how are the pictures below possible.....am I missing something?

Actually, all you have to do is pull the thumb latch back once the cylinder is open and you can cock the hammer.

Open the cylinder, hold the cylinder release back, cock the hammer. You can do this with all S&W revolvers.

Only thing you've gota remember is ... if you close the loaded cylinder first ... don't aim it at any body parts when you pull the trigger.
