A Ruger and a Marlin.
...and a Smith.
I want a 3" 657 so bad I can taste it but alas...none too common. I even have a 3" 624 I would trade. Also want a blue 5" Redhawk but they are less common than the 3" 657.

Nice collection 1mathom1. Good luck in your quest for a 3" 657 and 5.5" blue Redhawk. There are always several 3" 657s on the auction sites but I've only seen two in the wild over the years, one I bought back in 1988 and the other was an engraved one that I wish I did buy The blue Ruger Redhawk 5.5" is rarely seen anywhere and it took me until this past year to find one.

Nice .41's fellas. I'm waiting for one in the mail I just traded a 629 for a 6" 657, once that arrives I'll be up to four .41 mags, 3", 4", 5", and 6" and I'll have to get them all together for a family photo

I've got a 57 no-dash, customized by Austin Behlert that I got at auction, with a 2 1/2" magnaported barrel, ball detent in the crane, Behlert sights and action job, wide target trigger with stop, and a rounded butt. It originally came with Pachmeyer grips, which I've traded out for some far more comfortable target grips that I had.
As it was when I bought it.
Since the butt is rounded, but smooth, and it doesn't seem to match the standard N-frame round butt profile, I've always assumed that it was converted by Mr Behlert. Could anyone point me toward some grips that might fit a little better, or just confirm that it's really just a regular round-butt N-frame? I'd really like to get some quality wood stocks for it, but I've been hesitant to grab some Keith Brown round-butt N-frames for fear that they're not going to fit properly.
Here's the frame without the stocks.
Here's my other .41 magnum. Dan Wesson stainless model 41, 6" barrel. I'm hoping to take a deer with it this year.

BEAUTIFUL NICKEL. great gun...That would look really nice next to my 4 inch Blued No Dash......Bullets are at a premium right now if you dont reload....I think I paid almost 40 bucks a box for some Winchester Partitions when I first bought some...I have a fellow forum member who does some reloading for me now...So its really reasonable....I bet I shoot a 100 rounds a week from my 41's I just can not get enough of them!!

Lew Horton?
Have a 3 inch model 57-3. Target hammer has been made smaller and trigger is smooth. Appears grip has been reshaped to K-frame rd butt. Trying to find out if this is a Lew Horton special order gun. Also anyone know if model 58's were also done in nickel. Have one in nickel and never shot it. Have one 58 I bought in early 70's as well as a prized 58 I got at a show in late 80's/early 90's stamped SAPD. Paper work shows police trade-in from that department. Shoots great. Only other question would be a price range on 57-3 or nickel 58. Should add I'm thinking about selling
model 632(32 H&R mag)with 3 inch barrel unfired in box.
Anybody know where I can get information about what their
worth....hope this posts right.

Lew Horton Models were the stainless 657 versions. I have a 657 No Dash Lew Horton and a 657-4 both 3 inch guns. 1 was a run of 5000 1 was a run of 150. I would imagine if you have a 57-3 and it is a 3 inch it has to be a custom job as to my knowledge they only came with a 4 inch Barrel or longer. I could be wrong on that but Im pretty sure on it. If you ever sell the 57-3 Custom please PM me as they are right up my wheelhouse. One question on your 3 inch measurement. Are you measiring from the face of the cylinder or where the Barrel goes into Frame. I would bet your 57-3 is a 4 inch if you measure from the front of the cylinder (Where the Bullet Comes Out, not goes in)

I can't remember if I posted this one (searched but not found on the thread). Model 58 adjustable, nickel, .41 Magnum, long barrel. What more could you want?
From Gunbroker, at my local gun shop. After this picture I used some Simichrome and it polished up very nicely.

I'm a few years late to this posting but I have an update. I just acquired what I believe is the last s-prefix model 58 s32999x. Came with presention pachmyrs and gold inlays on the lettering. No box no papers. I might be wrong but I just picked up my golden grail m58 for $775 and it's rare and it's mine. How do I post a pic???

Hit "Post Reply" and then click on the little yellow picture of the mountain...looks like a little postcard. A box pops up with a place for you to put the web address of the picture...such as "http://photobucket.com/picture.jpg"

This 57 no dash was in the local pawn shop for $300. It needed stocks and I got it for $289. The Keith Browns cost me more than the gun.

I've owned several Model 57's over the decades that have all come and gone. The only .41 Magnum I currently own is this N prefix example that was manufactured in 1973 and shipped from the factory to the Spikeblock Emergency Equipment Co., Victoria, British Columbia on May 28, 1975.

I've been wanting a .41 Mag since I shot my Boss' S&W back in the early '80's (actually his Wife's gun, he had a .44 Mag). He had me shoot it at a cross tie gate post. Almost no recoil and I wasn't too impressed with the round until I went to the back of the cross tie and saw the exit "wound"......WOW!
I've been trying to find a DE .41 Mag but that's looking like a no go. I'm not really a revolver kinda gut although I do have a model 66 stainless I bought new back in the early '80's. Back then, it was still a .357 Magnum but from what I read, it's now more of a .38 (not so) special. I haven't ran alot of rounds through the 66 and depending on who is writing, you can run .357 mag in it or you can't......
Either way, I'll never get rid of it although I do need to get it re-bead blasted. I've cleaned it so much it now looks polished, LOL!
Seeing all of these .41's has given me a strong "itch" for another revolver.

These are my Model 57-1's. The big one carries a Tasco illuminated 1X scope in a Burris mount. It has the 8-3/8" barrel and I bought that one used around 1989. The smaller one has a 6" barrel and I got that one (also used) around 1990. I bought the big one as a way to open up a new season for myself for hunting deer. I can assure everyone that the .41 Magnum loaded with Remington's 210 Soft Point WILL take deer right off their feet. I've never had to shoot them more than once with it, even at a measured range of 92 yards.

Here is my Classic Hunter M657-3.
I like the -3's because they have endurance improvements, forged parts, and are drilled and tapped for scope rings.

I haven't been able to find anything new or different in S&W .41s, or when I do, it's not affordable......scratch that, I did find a 357PD a while back plus traded a Mod 28 for another 58. Sorry no photos yet.
Here are few Rugers though....
My whole Ruger .41 Magnum gang.

57s & lawerance leather unbeatable combo.
I collect & use model 57s & Lawrence leather also. I have a nice collecton of George Lawerance Holsters & leather. Got em for S&W, Colt, and TC Contender. I think the .41 mag is a great caliber. Don't many, only have four, but love em all.
