Lightbulb Widening the rear sight on a fixed sight gun

I'm interested in milling out the rear sight on a fixed sighted gun to allow a less cramped sight picture. I saw a picture of it once, but this is the best I could find tonight.

Has anyone tried it? I'd love pictures and opinions from those that have.
Thanks,
The Continental Op

Tried it, don't like it for speed shooting. Tend to let front creep high in rounded notch..
My favorite is fiber optic front and plain black rear square notch. Some of the younger guys like FO front and back.

I've used needle files on square notches, when needed, to widen the notch.

Default Here's the picture I had seen

Never mind, I couldn't get the picture to post properly. It's from Massad Ayoob's book Combat Handgunnery.
